I'm linking up with 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made It. (Never mind the fact I'm a day late in posting...) I spent a little time after school this afternoon switching up one of my bulletin boards. It's almost
We've been working on telling time to 5 minute intervals for the past few weeks so I decided to create a Valentime's bulletin board for the month of February. I've created a literacy-rich classroom where my students can learn and I am intentionally working to make it a numeracy/math rich learning environment as well.
The hardest part of showing time to 5 minute intervals (for some students) is remembering that the hour hand moves as the minutes go by. Some students still want to put the hour hand right on the 3, even when it's 3:45. I want my students to be able to quickly reference several different examples over the next few weeks, so I put this bulletin board together:
Do your students mispronounce Valentine's Day? I can't tell you how many times I hear "Valentime's." I think Barbara Park helped make it famous with Junie B. Jones and the Mushy Gushy Valentime! I'm really hoping some of my students will hear how silly "Valentime's" sounds and that they will will start pronouncing it with the /n/ sound instead!
Did you make something for your classroom this week? Be sure to link up with 4th Grade Frolics and share your creative ideas!
